Gadsden Elementary School District #32 replacing flooring on all school’s gymnasium to create a safer place to enhance learning
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
SAN LUIS, AZ— The Gadsden Elementary School District #32, is proud to announce that with the approval of ESSER Funds the gymnasium flooring for all our schools will be replaced with luxury vinyl tile. ESSER funding can help schools create more collaborative classrooms. With this funding, schools can invest in the latest technology to foster an interactive learning environment for our students. The project was completed in a record time, it started on August 14, 2023, at Ed Pastor Elementary School and they were completed with that school by the end of the school day.
The total cost of the project for the three schools is $158,471.18. “The project was a priority to our district,” said Mr. Omar Velazquez Gadsden ESD #32 Maintenance Director. “The new gymnasium floorings are designed to be low maintenance, making it easier for our schools to keep their gymnasiums clean and tidy, and easy to clean in case of any accident.” The flooring is luxury vinyl tile, the tile is waterproof and non-slip which will promote student safety.
"We are thrilled to introduce our new innovative gym flooring for our schools," said Mrs. Lizette Esparza, Superintendent at Gadsden ESD #32. "Many of the carpet floors were torn which can cause many accidents for our students and it was becoming a hazard since carpets tend to collect many germs and dust. We believe this flooring system will greatly benefit our schools and contribute to the overall well-being of our students."
The Gadsden ESD #32 is always looking for ways to improve schools to promote student learning. The new flooring encourages the overall learning experience by providing a comfortable and visually appealing environment.
On August 15, 2023, the company started working on Arizona Desert Elementary School and they will then move over to San Luis Middle School to finish off the flooring. In September 2023 they will start applying the boundary lines for all of our schools, to finalize the flooring for those three schools.
