Part-time Parent Liaison
Overview
This is a part-time position. Office hours are set by school principal not to exceed 19 hours per week.
General Description
In accordance with the law and district policy, the Parent Liaison is responsible for working under the direction of the principal to accomplish school and district goals.
Educational and Experience Requirements
•High school diploma or equivalent
•Bilingual (English/Spanish) oral and written communication skills
•Interpersonal skills •Ability to complete multiple tasks as assigned
•Ability to lead meeting groups
•Valid Arizona Driver’s License
Major Responsibilities
•Home visits – As directed by the principal to accomplish school and district goals
•Office assistance – Duties as assigned by the principal
Responsibilities:
•Produce monthly school newsletter and other information to be disseminated to parents with prior approval of principal.
•Provide assistance in parent-teacher conferences including translation services. Help with the organization of the parent-teacher association (PTA). Hold regular meetings with PTA officers.
•Attend school functions held in the evening.
•Recruit parents to serve on school committees.
•Assist with special events and projects.
•Document all home visits and conferences.
•In coordination with the migrant program director and other parent liaisons, assist with MPAC meetings.
•Contract parents when students have excessive absences or tardiness.
•Assist with school bell program.
•Sign in and out in the school office and attach documentation for hours worked outside of office hours.
•Protect confidential information.
•Refrain from political activities while representing the school and school district.
•Other tasks as assigned by the administration
Physical Demands of the position
This position requires a person that can lift 40 pounds.
